Quiet and Solitude are practices to engage in every season of life in various ways. Stepping outside our regular rhythms of work and life even to a new location can refresh and renew us in unexpected ways.
This Eastertide, we invite you to join Fr Todd Blackham (Associate Rector for Whole-Life Discipleship, Christ Church Denver) for a one-night silent retreat at Sacred Heart Retreat House––a Jesuit retreat center only 30 minutes, but a world away, from Christ Church Denver.
Sign up for this retreat, running Friday evening through Saturday afternoon, and take the next step in cultivating intentional quiet time with God.
This retreat will be largely self-guided aside from an opening orientation and reflection to start the retreat and a closing time of mutual sharing.
The cost is $130 per person, including one night lodging, meals (dinner Friday through lunch Saturday), and optional spiritual direction. Partial or full scholarships are available, if needed (contact Fr Todd to request assistance).
There are only 10 spots, so act quickly and register early!
Fr Todd Blackham will be on hand throughout the weekend, available to hear confessions, offer prayer and pastoral guidance, etc. Please email him directly to book an appointment in advance.
Sacred Heart also offers consultation, prayer, and spiritual guidance with one of the Jesuits onsite or a trained spiritual director. If you would like to book a session with one of the Sacred Heart staff, please indicate your interest on the registration form and further information will be given to you upon arrival (this cost is included in the retreat fee). Please make a check out to ‘Christ Church Denver’, memo: Quiet Retreat, paying at the Christ Church Denver parish office in advance or given to Fr Todd upon arrival to Sacred Heart.
Arrival
Sacred Heart Jesuit Retreat House is located 1.5 miles west of Sedalia, Colorado––just 30 miles southwest of Denver.
Ample free parking is available onsite, including select handicapped spaces.
Accommodations
Onsite accommodations are included in your registration. Attractive simplicity, comfortable furnishings, and beautiful architecture provide a warm welcoming ambiance. Sacred Heart Retreat House has fifty private rooms, with bath and restroom facilities centrally located in each corridor. Each room has a double or single bed, side table, armchair, desk, dresser, sink, and individual temperature controls (heating and air conditioning). The retreat house is smoke-free and accessible for wheelchairs and walkers. Please note roommate requests (if any) at registration and the retreat house will do its best to accommodate.
Meals
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is included in your Nutritious meals that offer a variety of foods and are prepared in the retreat house kitchen and served cafeteria style. Complimentary beverages and light snacks are always available in the main dining room between meals. Please note any dietary restrictions or requests at registration; the retreat house will do its best to accommodate all requests.
