RADICAL HOSPITALITY
Mission/Vision - To welcome, educate, integrate and relationally connect newcomers to life and ministry of Christ Church.
Purpose: To provide the ministry of radical hospitality to those attending worship at Christ Church Denver. Radical hospitality embraces people with God’s heart of love, creating a warm and welcoming space where people feel at home and strangers feel welcome.
GREETERS, HOSTS & SPONSORS
The ministry is broken down into 3 parts;
GREETERS - Greeters greet everyone who comes to a service and help direct them to the Children’s Ministry area if needed.
HOSTS - Hosts facilitate events that help newcomers become more familiar with Christ Church. Some of these events in 2024 included: Tours of the building, and Meet & Greets, which are held once a month so newcomers can meet Clergy, Vestry and a few parishioners. In addition, Newcomer Social Lunches allowed newcomers to meet each other and ask questions about CCD which are answered by Clergy, staff, Vestry and lay ministry leaders.
SPONSORS - Sponsors help new members connect into the life and ministry of Christ Church.
VOLUNTEERS ARE VITAL TO OUR PROGRAM
Of course, none of this radical hospitality can happen without the leadership and hard work of many volunteers.
GOALS FOR 2024
Provide regular opportunities for Newcomers to get to know and form relationships with key parishioners and clergy.
Monthly picnics for all parishioners so newcomers can get to know more people and make connections.
Make the monthly “Meet & Greets” less formal to attract newcomers by rebranding to “Meet The Rector” at the Welcome Desk.
We are looking at restructuring the roles of this Ministry.
